Buckeye Central Graduation 2020
Dear Seniors and Families of the Buckeye Central Class of 2020,
Graduation will be held on Wednesday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. We have also established a rain date on the following day, Thursday, June 18. We are excited to honor our Seniors and have established a “drive-in” ceremony taking into account the order in place for each school in Ohio preventing large gatherings. The graduation is designed to be similar to our annual, traditional ceremony, yet outdoors and meeting Ohio’s social distancing guidelines. The program is aligned with the Ohio Department of Health’s Order and has been approved through the Crawford County Board of Health.
Briefly, families will participate in the graduation from their car in the parking lot at Buckeye Central School. A stage will be set up for speeches, recognition, and for each student to “walk” and receive their diploma. Large screens will be set up so that each family has excellent viewing throughout the ceremony. An FM radio system will allow families to tune into their radio for clear audio.
Current plans are to video the full graduation eventually allowing for a lifetime recording of this year’s unique and memorable COVID-19 graduation. This keepsake will allow each Senior to share their special ceremony for years to come! We are also inviting a local radio station to broadcast the graduation live. While the ceremony will include all classmates and their immediate family, extended family members, friends, and community members will be unable to attend this year due to the significant restraints on large gatherings.
Dr. Martin will be sharing the full details of the preparation and ceremony with you over the upcoming weeks. Continue to look for his updates and requests for important graduate information. Together, we will honor the accomplishments of each graduate with pride! Please mark this important date(s) on your calendar.
