Welcome to the 2020-21 school year at Buckeye Central Middle School!
Thank you for your kind support the last four years and for the opportunity to continue serving the BC district. In my leadership role this year, I plan to focus on keeping us on track for excellence. As the coronavirus pandemic began, we followed the governor’s guidelines and finished the final nine weeks of SY 2019-20 using remote learning.
The school building closure changed all of our lives in an instant. It will be our collective job as parents/guardians, educators, and stakeholders to minimize the residual effects on students from the loss of rich in-person learning, normal social interaction, and expected academic gains. We certainly will meet this challenge!
It is rewarding to be part of the Buckeye learning community where parents and extended family members, students, teachers, and administrators care about one another and seek to build strong, positive relationships. We are fortunate to have local businesses and church organizations eager to encourage our work. Together we will continue to prepare our students for jobs that do not exist, innovations that have not been imagined, and challenges that are unique to this century.
Our dedicated staff members worked this summer to devise a plan to prepare students to grow in academic and social ability despite any losses due to the pandemic. They are perfecting how to encourage students to challenge themselves, understand their potential, enjoy the educational journey, and give back to the community. As a team we pay special attention to the individual needs of each student and research and apply strategies to best serve them. At Buckeye, we have a strong history of preparing students well. Throughout the year, we are inspired to follow our passion and create wonder every day! COVID-19 did not change our goals; it just heightened our resolve!
At Buckeye Central Middle School, we hold high expectations for all students and promote worthy values such as integrity, individual responsibility, fairness, respect, perseverance, and timeliness. We have the responsibility of being the role models that our students seek. I know we will succeed!
Let’s make 2020-21 another exceptional year no matter what may come our way!
Please feel free to contact me with your suggestions, questions, or concerns.
Yours in education,
Mrs. Deborah Daniel,
Buckeye Central Middle School Principal
